I dread this moment

So since I have turned 50yrs 2 months ago, this year is the year of serious tests to be done.. and I dread them lol... mammogram and colonoscopy.

I heard a mammogram hurts a lot and I've had a colonoscopy years back... but since I had a cancer last year, I'm scared that they may find something when I do have them tests done. I know sooner the better, but still, I dread it lol

Just need for the letter telling me ,I need to contact them for it.

I just had my first mammogram this year at 41. They say the new age is 40 and over to get the test regardless of history. You will do fine!! It was a tad uncomfortable but not painful. And each breast only took a few mins! And they give a tiny break even in between that. I wish you luck...it will go smoothly馃尭
@Coralmist yeah in the US its 40+ but here in Canada its 50+. I had asked my oncologist if i needed to take the test earlier he said no, since i was turning 50 this year

You're allowed to decide what tests to have and which ones to not have.
I don't do colonoscopy because I use the fecal occult blood test, instead. Maybe you can do that and be just as safe as with colonoscopy. I nursed for four years in a row and I do my own, minute and careful breast exam, instead of a mammogram because I'm just as safe that way and there's no pain. Maybe you aren't in that category, but there are ways around that mammogram, too.

This might not be THE best advice but it might be safe enough to hold off a couple years if you really do not want to mess with it.

I probably won't get my "old people" tests on time. I got a little more than a year before I hit 50.
@CestManan i will get a letter for the test before next june, for sure i will do it because im more at risk because i had a cancer last year.

@SimplyMeChantou In that case then yeah probably better to adhere to a schedule of testing.
This year the mammogram wasn't so painful
I guess they aren't pressing too hard 馃槚
I've had two biopsies and they came as negative
I wish you the best!

Early detection is the best, don't worry nothing will happen.
