Being old can be lonely and frightening. You lose confidence. Try it one day.
When I was in hospital it was because some had Alzheimer's so were confused bless 'em. There just isn't enough nurses to attend to them 24/7. I hope you are ok by the way.

@CatCatKittie I've been getting a lot of blood spots popping up on both arms and tremors. I've been very tired and feeling off for awhile.
@deepblacknothingness Oh no bless ya. Sending you some hugs 🫂

Dementia.
Alzheimer's, dementia etc hospital can be scary for those of us in our right mind but for those suffering these illnesses it's even worse.

Wide variety of reasons depending upon the patient and circumstances. Probably most frequently related to dementia where they are just clueless as to what is happening to them. But in my experience -- both as caregiver and now elderly myself -- I think it is more related to the frustration of feeling of helpless. Simple things you never even thought about before can become major challenges, and if you are living alone or dependent upon staff without much time per patient, it seems to whelm up, unbidden.
My mother's lament always was "God help me", and it irked me no end (although I kept my mouth shut). Part of it was our differing views of religion, but it also was the apparent lack of recognition than I was there and I was helping.
But the cycle of life can, and most likely will, bite you in the ass. I find that very same expression escaping my lips frequently when struggling to do something I used to do without a thought. Including God, which really irks me.

@dancingtongue well,at the most vulnerable time of your life when your facing your own mortality, God might be the only thing they have left.
One thing I learned about dealing with the dying was its not about you its about them.
