The baby has arrived, but no pictures were received. Others' phones are flooded with images. Am I missing something?

This is a follow up to a question I've asked two months ago.

My hypothesis seems accurate - the friendship is fake/forced. Would you, in this situation, address the "elephant in the room" (in other words, problem) with your 'friend', or forget about it? I guess my absence to a shower was offensive, even though I had to work. I still bought and sent a gift, which was well received, and didn't hear back from them since. I know parenting is a huge commitment (it's part of life), but I feel as though I was used for show and tell, between May and June. This is the friend that I just can't talk to, because that connection is no longer real since 2014. What should I say, without causing any hurt feelings?

sometimes silence carries more weight than words

Why should you say anything really- people drift apart.
No reason to make a fuss- just live your life

and if/when you two rekindle a connection- forget the past and enjoy the present

life is too short to worry about the negatives
