There needs to be balance in our lives. A person who lives for themselves only will lose people because of his or her selfishness and spend a great deal of energy chasing after others to have a relationship. Those who live for others without regard to themselves will burn out eventually. It's best to set priorities, you cannot help others and keep doing it if you don't take care of yourself first.

But more than that i guess i understood what i missed and i know what mom always longed for. Honestly, i'd strive to give all that I missed and a lot more to my wife and kids, By the way I'm still single but I do have an idea of how i'd have to be loving and affectionate to my family.

@RickStanley: just have to be careful about who you marry and make sure they aren't a user

I guess then we come back to the same point. Do i live for myself or for my kids if she's out? But i definitely would live for my kids and my wife even though she might be a user . Love doesn't judge at the end of the day.

I didn't know there was a choice. Not sure if I ever lived for myself.

sometimes life throws in the toughest storms and give you no choice but to sacrifice oneself for the sake of others. We fondly call them as parents, friends and kids.

The balance that we all try to find is hardest, living the best life for yourself while trying to live for the person you love.. but i can honestly say when you start to live for yourself and find what truly makes you happy everything else falls into place. (Only learn from expierence)

They are both just as hard. You live by everyone else you tire yourself out and leave yourself unappreciated. Live for yourself. Everyone you live your life for will think you're a cunt for thinking of yourself.

Our society just likes to keep throwing mud at us for the things we do and the decisions we make. We search for love and affection and try to find it from someone else and they end up breaking us and then we decide to live for ourselves and find peace within ourselves and we are labelled as being selfish.
