I just woke up and these are my groggy thoughts

I wish we could rename/restructure the United States.

We're rarely "united". Plus people call us "Americans" when that's so vague- everyone in the western hemisphere technically are from The Americas, hence, we're all "American".

It would be nice to have a new name for this country, something simple that differentiates us from the rest of the Americas. "United States Citizen" is too long and fussy. I'm fine with "Yankee" or "Yank", but people in the southern US wouldn't call themselves that (see, we're rarely united). I don't want it to be anything political - it should be something based on nature.

I read that the Venus Flytrap does not grow wild anywhere else except for the boggy areas of North and South Carolina. Also, the Redwoods do not exist anywhere except for the northern coast of California and Oregon, and the giant Sequoias don't exist outside of California. Perhaps we should divide the whole country in half, and create two countries - the east side could be named "Venus" and the West side could be called "Sequoia".🤭
