I was on my way to work, listening to Howard Stern and he was talking about it and I wasn’t sure if he was joking or if it was a previously recorded episode. When I got to work, my boss was watching it on the TV. And I said is that really happening? He said yes, and of course at that time it was only the one plane so he thought it was just an accident and I punched in and started working then My boss came out into the shop and told us that something was going on the other tower just got hit. I was working in an autobody shop at the time.
I was at work… at the time I worked for a local newspaper. My department was called into the publishers office. She had her tv on and watching the news.
My husband and I had just found out we were expecting our first child.
I was just waking up. My wife was getting ready to leave for work (I was retired, she was still working) and came in the bedroom and said "a plane just hit one of the World Trade Center towers. You might want to check it out". I spent the rest of the day glued to the TV.
A co-worker walked in and told me a plane hit the world trade center as if it was no biggie and he could care less. I figure the boss sent him around tell everyone because his heart wasn't in it. At the time I thought it was a little private plane or something. Didn't realize how big it was until my lunch break when I sat down and turned on the TV.
