Do u believe Lindsay Clancy should receive the death penalty 💣 💣 💣
Well as some of you may know by now this case was declared a mistrial. I tried not to follow this story because it's so horrific. This woman is responsible for the unaliving of all 3 of her kids. Allegedly. So they declared her mentally illed in a nutshell and also were suspicious about the medication she was taking at the time. What do you think. Should she have received the death penalty. Some say yes and others say no. They say if she is medically cleared .she could be back out on the streets soon. Hmmmmm. I don't know about that. What is your opinion on this story. The floor is yours. Best answer wins. 🤔
She spent at least 12 minutes watching her kids struggle to breathe, strangulation isn't a quick death . Picture those kids kicking struggling fighting for air while their own mother chokes them
The death penalty is not a possible sentence because Massachusetts does not allow capital punishment in its state courts. If convicted of first-degree murder, the standard sentence in Massachusetts is life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
The trial is determine if she was psychotic at the time the offenses were committed, so that the jury can decide if she's guilty of Murder 1 or not. If not, she'd get life without parole, most likely. If so, she'd get an, as of now, undetermined amount of time in a psychiatric hospital.
And no, she could not be "on the streets soon". Similar cases have had women who were declared insane at the time of the crime in the hospital for decades.
Legal or not, I don't believe in the death penalty.
As to any type of sentencing, excluding the death penalty, I'll leave that up to a jury, after a verdict has been declared.
We don't have all the facts. They would.
Not likely she'll get life imprisonment though, judging by this last jury.
Some new laws are needed to cover this type of case. They jury doesn't have a whole lot of choice. She can only be found guilty of laws that exist.
It really saddens me to see all these calls for death. Especially since they don't know all the facts. The jury likely has facts, they don't even know about. No watching the trail can cover all the facts either. You have to be able to actually see AND examine ALL the facts for yourself. Which only the jury can do.
They are basing their opinions on hearsay. Without seeing and examining ALL the evidence, it's hearsay. They haven't examined anything, at all, much less seen the ALL the evidence.
The defense has shown that it's more likely than not that Lindsay Clancy was not meaningfully in control of her own actions. Even if she was to some extent, there's no real denying that her postpartum mental health problems and/or medication side effects lead to the killings in some form, and these effects presumably are temporary. Also she's paralyzed from the waist down. There's no real risk of her reoffending. She should be ruled not guilty, evaluated psychologically for her current condition, and presumably be released.
@BlueVeins shes paralyzed from the waist down from her own actions. Her kids are dead because of her actions. This whole trial was a result of her actions.
I haven’t paid attention, but heard someone sharing evidence that it could’ve been the husband? Either way I’m against death penalty, but life in jail for sure.

@BlueVeins She was in control of her actions. Thats just an excuse and sets the stage for more situations like these. Besides if a man had done this would you be taking his side. Exactly. 🙄
@MyMonstersAreReal You may love your children, but you cannot overpower a disease like psychosis by sheer force of will. All of that love you have for your children can be turned against you. Your connection to reality can be severed to a point where you cannot distinguish help from harm. Most of us take our cognitive faculties for granted, but the brain is an organ that can fail like any other; it is only by the grace of God that we maintain the coherence we do have.
Unaliving? How about Murder or Killing? She deserves life imprisonment with no parole. If considered insane, lock her up in a mental ward for the rest of her life with no parole. Since Massachusetts doesn't allow the death penalty, that is the maximum allowed.
