How to accept horrible parts of yourself?

There's an author who writes on Trauma, his name is Gabor Mate.
He's good.. he actually used to be a medical doctor previous to being a therapist, and he's so down to earth.
He said in a short clip on YouTube, that often trauma came in childhood. So "you're not broken", and that we were really just trying to live in or by society's expectations. He said self esteem is not achievements, or will power, but getting to know YOURSELF...and accepting yourself, all parts.

I wonder though, can you feel less than others BECAUSE of what you've e gone through? Like I have crippling anxiety and PTSD, from severe abuse in childhood. So I feel having excessive anxiety MAKES me even more, *less than* others 🥺
I don't know how to reverse this belief. How can you accept the part of you that feels crippled, and feel as good as others??

"Scientology The Study Of YOU" - L. Ron Hubbard LOL Sorry I HAD to... And again I'm not part of the Church I'm Independent Scientologist But the Book Dianetics (Which I have and Study) Talks about this also LOL
Try not to let it define you and forgive those who did you wrong. It takes a lot of shadow work with yourself to reach that point. Yes you went through all these things and it caused trauma, but that isn’t the only definition of you. There is a whole universe inside you…explore it. That’s how I approached it . Good luck.

You have to accept yourself the way you present yourself to us. You make it clear you understand yourself already.
In my way of thinking you have already given yourself permission to step outside of the mindset you are talking about. 🫂

@Gibbon Ty my friend. Can I ask, if you were beginning to date someone, you clicked, but she became panicked on an outing or date, and had to stop the date or leave.... And she let you know it wasn't YOU, but her PTSD, and it could happen again, would you stay or look for another partner/date?

@Baybreeze if we clicked i would try to comfort her first. I would see that she got home safe also.
But understand I'm not a leaver when I hold an interest

Or keep from becoming just another psychotic thug with a wounded animal's take on life. I'm not sure if I'll ever be right but I want what people who were raised in decent homes have. Then again I understand the dark side of the world better than anyone who was never exposed to it.

You mind tunes out what it can not believe or accept. Slowly, those thing will turn into numbness to allievate the pain.
