I have a weird question

What does the word "esoteric" mean? Was it used a lot in the book, "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, and I'm wondering if this is a word with law of attraction principles behind it. I heard someone say this word on Tv and they had like this exotic accent, and I was like, I wish I knew what this word actually meant, and how to use it within the context of a sentence.

I looked it up

Esoteric describes knowledge, subjects, or interests understood by or intended for only a small, specialized group. It refers to obscure, highly specialized, or secret information not meant for the general public, often characterized by an air of mystery or exclusivity.

Usage Examples:
"The professor's lecture on 12th-century Byzantine poetry was far too esoteric for the undergraduate class".
"He has an esoteric collection of antique, hand-carved pipes".
"The group held esoteric discussions on ancient mysticism that few understood".
"The software developer had an esoteric taste in programming languages, preferring obscure, niche options".
