I agree. It's kind of like talking to yourself or writing to yourself and sharing what you are saying. The sharing part inserts a piece of think time before you speak or write, which helps you organize and own what you say.
I participate with a grief group ... a widow/widower group, also with some PTSD issues mixed in, and the suggestion of putting what you think in some sort of organized communication, even if it's journalizing just to yourself, can be very therapeutic.
