When my ex told me she was bringing her new boy-toy over to MY house where she was living RENT FREE until I grew enough of a spine to kick her out.

I realised I no longer liked a person through small changes rather than one big moment. Their presence started to feel draining instead of enjoyable, and conversations began to feel forced. Things about their behavior or values that I once overlooked started to bother me. Over time I noticed I wasn’t curious about them anymore, being kind felt like effort, and I even felt relief when there was distance between us. The realisation came quietly when I noticed I no longer missed them or looked forward to being around them.

When she said she didn't love our children

When he showed up with hickies that weren't from me. I was like well that was your first and last mistake.

When everything was a cut and a dig. Defensive and avoidant. People that lie are the worst.

When they act as a stranger at times

I just realized they were a very shallow person and behind all their positivity there was nothing very substantial underneath.

It’s a sure turn off when they get personal in a passive aggressive way, or plain nasty.
