"The middle of nowhere" I'm sure the middle is the greatest tourist spot in the world because it seems everyone has been there but how is the edge of nowhere or even the outskirts of nowhere? Everyone talks about the middle

On a holiday to Ireland, we drove around for ages looking for some tourist attraction then got out of the car and walked (in the rain obviously, Ireland is lush and green for a reason) to an obelisk with a very important sign which read... "Here on this spot on September 5th 1837 absolutely nothing happened." Well we found the middle of nowhere. It was nice. I would recommend but I have no idea how to find it twice!
