I wnated to be a scientist or engineer, although I was never sure in what discipline.
I was inspired by my Dad, a Chartered Electrical Engineer working in that field as a civil-servce scientist, and by an Uncle I did not see often (by geographical distance) but I knew worked in British Railway's R&D laboratories - though I don't know in what way.
Unfortunately Science and Engineering are both highly mathematical... and maths was my weakest academic subject.
