What would you do with unlimited funds?

Where would you go, what would you see, what or whom would you do? LOL
Would it solve all of the problems in your life or do you reckon it would cause a whole heap more than what you've got now?

There are a few deserving people I would help out first. Then set up the grandchidren. (kids are already doing well) Maybe take that cruise around NZ I always meant to do. Then spend 6 months travelling round OZ by car and stopping a lot of places..😷

My basic lottery plan is pretty simple…split the winnings down the middle with my GF. Buy a house, not larger than actually needed. Keep my current car for now. Invest 2 million per year for the next decade in 10 year T-bonds, reinvesting after the ten year maturity for perpetual passive income. Set up college funds for my sister’s kids.

After that, just enjoy life.

Will it solve my current problems…not all, but most, and the ones it doesn’t solve will be made infinitely easier to manage.

Would it cause additional problems? Almost certainly, but those are bridges to be crossed in their own time.
Trust me........the ONLY thing money won't buy is poverty. About 99% of everyone's problems are involved with money insecurity...in some way or another. Can't buy meds..........constant worry about the bills being paid.........doing without something because of no money. Money is NOT everything..........but it eliminates those 90% of worries if you have enough of it.

I would build "tiny homes communities" as temporary housing for the homeless, to give them an address to get a job so they can get back on their feet. Then make sure no child went to bed hungry.
@calicuz Hell yes
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@calicuz can I help?
calicuz · 56-60, M
@ScreamingFox

Absolutely. 🤗
I’d love the security. I’d buy myself a house with a spare bedroom for someone I love who’s struggling right now. And I’d donate more to the shelter where I’ve volunteered so they could help even more people than they do.

I'd go to Japan...I've always wanted to go. Just to be the annoying tourist that visits all the sites for a couple weeks. Be anonymous and just go where I want to go. It's not fixing any problems but might make me a bit stronger to face them down for a little while.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Would move first into an unassuming, but move-in-ready house.
Buy a better car, pay all my outstanding bills.
Maybe some new furniture,
I would use the rest to live on modestly and help my kids.
If you live like you have unlimited funds, you would have to get security and live in a fortified place, and that is not appealing to me.
I would try to think of something good to do with the bulk that would be left.
I would like to travel as well.

Help out my family and friends and rescue shelters for animals and St Jude and Shriner's Hospital!!!!
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I'd buy my son a home/farm where we can rescue all animals and grow our own food and donate fresh food (instead of boxed garbage).

I'd buy a van again and travel and help/volunteer. Help kids.

I'd probably buy an old castle in Ireland and a million candles as a place to escape trump/american bs.

Mostly I want to give back. I don't need or want much. Just a feeling of security is enough and the ability to help others. I'd feel complete.
Oh, it would solve several problems, but open the door for others. Some very rich people have had their children kidnapped and ransomed.

If it were unlimited, as in discretely tapping a fund as opposed to winning a mega-lottery and all that publicity.... Pay off bills, pay for kids college or schooling, several worthy charities. No need to suddenly buy a mansion or flashy cars and flaunt it. Oh, maybe take the family on a nice vacation or two, and take my spouse somewhere they really wanted to visit.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@VeronicaJane Yes. I am fortunate enough to have all I really want now. So one of my touchstones would be not to let on that I was "rich". As you say, it creates its own problems. I enjoy my anonymity.😷

I would fly first class. I'd make some renovations to my house (which it needs), and set up a solid retirement account for my son. The rest would be to support philanthropy, probably in various ways, food banks, housing programs, also the arts and medical and scientific research. All anonymously.
UKNaturist · M
If it was unlimited, I'd first make sure that those close to me were comfortable and then I'd retire and go on holiday to take stock and plan ahead
Kiesel · 56-60, M
I would travel a lot and build a bardo-minium somewhere where’s there’s mountains, trees and a nearby stream or river.
Help with the homeless, animal shelters, AND the less fortunate veterans
I'd go everywhere
see everything
visit alll of you hihihi

it would solve some problems hmmm
BillyMack · 46-50, M
I’d get out of debt. Buy some land somewhere and build a small house. I’d relax and camp and do whatever.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, MVIP
I would have a custom house built in a private piece of forest here in Europe. Maybe in the Schwarzwalt in Germany. Not big, but very comfortable.

I would also have a house built on a tropical island somewhere. With my own private beach.

Besides that I would travel a lot. No private jets of any or any of such extravaganza, but I'd only fly first class.

@FeetAreFantastic Basically this. 😆

I would help all my friends and travel the world.
I am approaching and quite near such an abundance and I would be solving all financial problems in life of people all around the world. I should soon be the controller of all fiat currencies around the world and save the world from the financial disaster that it's heading towards.
