So "Tossing a salad" really involves gently mixing ingredients, usually with tongs or clean hands, to evenly distribute the dressing without bruising the leaves!?

@valobasa4ever To most people, yes. If it had some disgusting dressing (ranch come to mind but YMMV) it could also mean dropping it in the trash.
