"no one will ever want you"

Blondily · F
Mom:
Aren't you glad I never aborted you or gave you up for adoption? Plus she said many other hurtful remarks while I was growing up. I was a good kid, never got into trouble, but not perfect.
I always wondered if I was adopted because Id see my friends parents saying lovely things to them.
Later in life I found out my mom gave a baby up for adoption 1 1/2 years before I was born. I was shocked but the missing pieces to the puzzle were finally found.
She had a very hard upbringing, an alcoholic father, sent off to live with her grandmother whose husband was mean to her. She became bitter as a result. I finally understood it wasnt me she was mad at, it was how she took the wrong path marrying a cheating prick, leaving her with 2 kids then he came back into her life after they divorced and she gave the third one up for adoption. Then she met my dad and had 3 more kids. She was overwhelmed I think. She did her best but couldn't escape her past yet turned to religion which I think helped her. Do I hate her for the shitty things she said? No I love her and miss her, she died in 2017 and I forgave her years ago. 🥀
@Blondily That is pretty harsh
After the accident that took my husband and son, someone in church informed me that I was being punished for my friendship with members of the LGBTQ community (although she wasn’t quite so polite in terminology). I never went back to that church, even though my mother and her friends made things so uncomfortable that the woman eventually left, too.

So many things he said to me in the span of a few days. They were heartbreakingly cruel. No need to list them, they continually eat at my heart the way it is.

“God has a plan” after my dad died.

Mine are trivial compared to some of these but stuff about my weight/appearance (which was caused by other issues that were private but made it worse to me)

In all my years of life, and it was on here, social media. By a couple who preach kindness, lol! I won't repeat.

‘How come no one likes you?’ I realise now that it was something I needed to hear, I wasn’t a very nice person. At the time it was horrid to hear.

I love you.

Its bad luck to speak ill of the dead. We'll just leave that in the past where it belongs.

“Everything will be yours…”

Yeah, I suppose so. Except for the second will that named me to receive nothing even when everyone else was dead.

Parental parting shot. Nice stuff.

@Captainjackass I feel you. I was forced to live with someone who threatened me with violence and murder often myself.
