I have never purchased from Shein or other similar chinese internet retailers, but I'll guess that she's seen images that look as nice as the dress you have, but in reality are probably *much* lower in quality. If she had ever purchased from them she'd have known the difference. I have a neighbor who nice-looking messenger bag from Shein and it was really poorly made. She tried to return it and that wasn't possible. I guess it was cheap enough that she gave up - maybe that's their sales gimmick? Sell junk that isn't worth returning?

I was never a fashion person. Not even as a teen. I wore what I got then, which was usually the cheapest. That hasn't changed in the decades since then.

You can criticize it, and it would never phase me. If fact it might make me a little proud if they did criticize what I wore.

I was the kid that went to Sunday school with holes at the knees in his jeans. And it was a somewhat plaush Sunday school.

It probably looks like it because they use actual photos of other name brand products and sell counterfeits 😏 i’m sure she meant no offense 😳

Some people are just very strange you never know why they say the weird things they do it, of course it wasn't very appropriate.

The reason they would look similar is because Tommy Hilfiger clothes are made in China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Mexico.

Shein clothes are made in China, India, Bangladesh and Vietnam.

People should just shut up when in doubt.
