What's the best and worst advice you ever received?

Best: An uncle advised setting aside 10% of my income for retirement from the get go with my first permanent, full-time job. "It may sound like a lot, but it comes down to a dime out of each dollar -- pocket change you most likely will squander anyway."

Worst: Anything my Sicilian mother-in-law said about raising her first grandson.
