What were the longest seconds of your life?

I came home late one night after having been out with friends, and I took my 14 year old golden retriever out for a walk to relieve himself. I live in a relatively remote area with lots of wildlife. I was only a block from the house when I saw the silhouettes of two animals through the dim moonlight. It was hard to see, but they appeared to be wolf-coyote hybrids, which we have in the area. My dog was very old, arthritic and slow. The hybrids charged us. No way I could out run them, especially with my senior dog, so I charged right back at them, raising my arms in the air and let out a blood curdling scream. The two hybrids turned and ran. The whole situation took just a few seconds, but seemed much longer.

@BizSuitStacy REALLY scary!!!
@4meAndyou Massive adrenaline dump. My knees about turned to rubber afterward.

@BizSuitStacy From the past tense in your post, I assume your poor older doggie is no longer with you. But if you should acquire a new doggie, and need to walk him, it might be good to carry pepper spray.
@4meAndyou Yeah...that was many years ago. But no more late night walks like that.

@BizSuitStacy Not if you've got critters like that roaming around!
@4meAndyou

We have all kinds. This was a couple of days ago.

This guy was on the front porch, while I was in the backyard.

@BizSuitStacy I've been camping with black bears ON my picnic table...a mama with her two babies while I was right in the tent next to the table!!! AND another night, our cooler was stolen by a bear, right in front of us while we sat at the campfire! We were very careless and didn't lock the cooler into the van.

We found the bear's teeth marks in the cooler lid...so the ex kept it as a souvenir of his encounter with a bear!!!

I don't know if I would feel comfortable with bears on my back porch, though...🤣🤣🤣
@4meAndyou I feel safer in the house with a solid door, than in a tent 😉

This was another
