Guy busted down the backyard door of my bedroom and burst in on me as I was reading.

@dancingtongue What happened?

@Musicman I called 911. When I said "Home intrusion" and gave her the address she said "Officers on their way; LOTS of officers on their way". Which I thought was a curious overstatement to reassure me, and she told me to get out of the house if I could do so safely. So I stepped out the open backdoor into the backyard, and circled around to the front and found there were already three squad cars there with neighbors and more arriving. We wound up with more than 6. Apparently I was at least the third -- and last -- property he had invaded. Meanwhile the intruder had walked down the hall from the bedroom, opened the patio doors into the entry courtyard, and gone out. Police asked for a description and when I gave it, they said "we nabbed him further down the street coming here". They came in and checked out the house to make sure it was safe. He obviously had mental issues: didn't take anything, didn't assault anyone, was just busting through fences and into houses. They were taking him in on a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation hold. I got a letter from the DA's office saying they were prosecuting him and that I may be eligible for victim restitution claims against him.
