Something most people don't speak about ...

Cassandra syndrome . Being with a neurodivergent person when you are not . And having a family who is also neurodivergent. . There is support for the people but not the one poor person who has to deal with them all the time. The rejection . The being ignored and neglected and the abuse. Therapists will make excuses for them but what about the poor child abused by them ?
And I am saying by no means that all people on the spectrum are abusive .
But the ones who are .... It's not an excuse to torture people .

My brother, I believe, is a very high-functioning "Aspie". Our youngest sister is schizophrenic. I suffer from clinical depression. I believe our middle sister is that "normal" one who navigates among us. She and I are probably the closest; she has never complained about mistreatment or abuse from us—and I believe she would. She’s pretty honest about what she doesn’t understand. I suspect it factored into her career as a school counselor. 🙂
@bijouxbroussard I have family members on the spectrum too that I love dearly. They are not abusive.
