Well, there is that whole thing called WWII and I remember the nightly radio broadcasts on the days events, and -- at least from D-Day -- plotting the day's troop advancement because my uncle was on the front lines. But it is all sort of an amorphous blur rather than a specific news story. I guess the first specific one I remember was FDR's death, and all you got on the radio other than a funereal bulletin periodically, was funereal classic music as a nation mourned.
