A specific situation I dislike

Anyone else hate when you make an effort writing a detailed reply to a text, you reply to all the things the person asked about, then they disregard everything you wrote, not acknowledging anything that's been said?

It's like all the effort doesnt matter. Just makes you feel dumb. Like a fool

Am I asking too much to be acknowledged?

When two people want different things, in different ways, and at different intensities, communication can become a quiet battlefield. Sometimes, one person simply wants to be heard — not advised, not debated, not matched with stories of your own. Just heard.

In those moments, you have a choice: Do you care enough to set aside your own needs — your urge to respond, to explain, or to be understood — and instead offer the gift of silence and presence?

If the answer is no, that’s okay. But be honest with yourself and them. Move on, or let them know you can’t be that listener right now.
