Are there any happy Neurosurgeons out there?

It seems like that is a job someone is forced to do to make their mother happy.

Neurosurgeons are the cream of the crop. Performing intricate procedures on the brain, nerves, structures around them. The one I had was probably the only one that could have performed my surgery - 10hr laminectomy w/full fusion C2 - T2. Saved my life.

Not sure about that. Friend is a (female) cosmetic surgeon. She gets a lot of satisfaction from the good she does.

On a financial level if you're smart and hard working but don't want to sully your hands with business/commerce it's the best way to make a decent living

@JonUK41 Surely if you are receiving (good) money for non-essential surgery, you are part of a business, if not running it. That is not to say that meeting people's desires isn't of value: that's the basis of all trade.

@cr4zyg4aLL Being OCD, I believe you will be successful. You will be able to concentrate and see and do things many can't. It's like a superpower.

Do Neuros need a lot of medical support?

Yes, they are smiling all the way to the bank!
