What’s something that made you believe that a friend was rich when staying at their house when you were younger?

I don't know about rich, but my cousin on my dad's side definitely had me convinced he lived a life of privilege. His house had an unfinished basement, with sheetrock that as far as I know never got painted. He turned this basement into a pretend paradise, and his parents allowed him to use markers all over the walls to that end. We would play for hours while my dad was upstairs visiting with his brother.
