There are so, so many..but one is when I had been raped of my virginity, and my mother said I had "spread my legs", and kicked me out to be homeless.

@Fukfacewillie you know the wild thing..i really truly appreciate you calling her that, as wicked as that sounds?? bc she has done and said so so many things..and she bandied my entire "family" together to disown me by email a year ago. so no..i do not!
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@foldedunfolding I’ve never put “family” over right and wrong. Stay strong!

@Fukfacewillie that means a lot to me. I am also the only anti MAGA blue hair..so yeah, she knew she had one last card to play: take my beloved nieces and nephews from me, as well as my stage 4 father. the word you chose was..fitting.

@foldedunfolding I can’t imagine the pain this must cause you, and yet it’s better than selling your soul to just get along and be shamed into oblivion.

@Fukfacewillie you really get it, thank you. i had this epiphany while watching "The Zone of Interest"..that rest/relaxation/even "happiness" is not TRUE PEACE without the TRUTH component. In that movie, a German family whose patriarch ran Auschwitz, lived a scenic life on the other side of the concentration camp wall....If i were to be HAPPY or PEACEFUL within my "family's" CONFINES..i would be worse off than a 12 stepper not even hitting the first step!

@foldedunfolding Absolutely. Someone asked me if I were “happy” and I responded that I don’t view my life that way. Rather, I ask, am I living authentically? Have I made the best choices given my options?
I can’t watch that movie (family members lost there) but know the history of that family, and it’s a real lesson in authenticity. I applaud your choices.

@Fukfacewillie my granddad helped free the Jews at Dachau..his friend Paulie shot a deer, and they streamed out naked to rip it apart and eat it uncooked. when they came back to the states, Paulie went into a random gas station. the 2 owners were 2 of the Jews he had saved. Ever after, they hosted him for dinner every wednesday night. When my grandpa's fully german wife passed, time passed, and Paulie passed..Pop married Paulie's full-blooded italian widow from the Bronx with a lazy eye..they had corresponded through vet reunions.

@Fukfacewillie but yes, to your point..deep-seated JOY is far different from happiness.

@foldedunfolding What a state they must have been reduced to, and what an incredible story. Kindness is so underrated and so easy in many ways, too.
