Political crap. Road rage. Endless lawsuits. Boycotting. Roadblock protests. You name it.

First I'm not saying that things are fine--I know they're not--but does it seem like people are just more and more pissy all the time? I'm beginning to think that there is an underlying and mostly unconscious need for people to just be pissed off. I know people feel betrayed, disconnected, disillusioned, victimized, and powerless(and there are plenty of arguments in favor of that).

Resolved: There's a ton of awful things happening, both to us and to others.

So here's a challenge--without getting political, can you answer my question? Do you think people just need to rage?

My answer is yes. I don't think people can control themselves and a lot of it is misdirected anger from another source.

One rule: Be nice or post goes poof.

To me emotions are very important. They're fast and accurate, they come right form the subconscious. The conscience part of the brain should read them like the gages on a car's dash board. We should ask why do I feel like this? But, this all depends on how much brain is present to assess and ask it's self about the emotional read out. Instead of teasing out data from our emotions the way we would a temperature gauge or radar screen, some just react. They don't have much conscious mind there to do anything else. That's why we call it chimping out.

@HobNoblin That sounds right. We're also supposed to have this amygdala thing to regulate emotional responses, but I think it fails half the time.

@uncalled4 It probably fails in some people or in a lot of people just because of their genetics. We also refuse to genetically groom ourselves to have better responses.
