@Rokan After I wrote my last comment I thought I remembered seeing a comment of yours recently about it. I realized how insensitive it sounded before I remembered.

@MellyMel22 she kicked me out of the house when i was 7 and i been through my fair share but ive healed and moved on.

@Rokan It was you that I remembered saying that! Good for you though. She had no business being a mom, no child deserves that. But look at you, you turned out better than her and I’m sure you would treat children wayyy better whether they be yours or someone else’s.

It's a different kind of freedom to realize that you can be happy without needing people to greet you on birthdays. The people who matter would be there with you anyway.

@MellyMel22 i dont have children so i dont want to assume. I know i havent always been the best in the face of stress, but i try not to blow up at anyone around me. She was an alcoholic i don't blame her i just hope she can find peace at this point. She is homeless now ansld has cancer and wont communicate with anyone so who knows.
@Casheyane to have nothing means i dont have to lose anything and to have something means ill have to bear the pain of losing something which ive been through both before, but to be honest i don't really care to celebrate myself very much i prefer to celebrate others and thats all it is.

@Rokan I grew up with an alcoholic. He slept next to a cup of whisky like I do water every night and he had several kitties in the freezer that he’d use to refill throughout the night..
I didn’t have it as bad as you that way, but I saw and went through a lot b/c of it. Given that, I think it helped shape how I parent my kids. I think many people who remember horrible things they lived through protect their kids from it and give the love they know they needed and that gets them it at the same time. So if the time ever comes and you question it, remind yourself you know what not to do and I’m sure you’ll be a good father. And if you don’t want kids, that’s your decision too. Just don’t ever think you are what started to raise you. You're better. I will say I don’t wish cancer or homelessness on anyone.

@MellyMel22 we will see what the future holds but right now the future holds me finishing up my degree and trying to find economic stability. So much stuff is expensive anymore. I also want to work on myself a bit. I dont want my negative traits to carry over.
MellyMel22 · F
@Rokan Good plan! It’s a start to anything you want in the future.
Rokan · 31-35, M
@MellyMel22 not being homeless is the goal atm
