I grew up either not having a birthday at all, or it being all a show. If you didn't cooperate with the show being put on, yeah it pissed people off.
Any of the few genuinely good birthdays (with someone who seemed to actually care about me) felt beyond odd too, because I wasn't used to someone actually accepting and wanting to do what I wanted to do.

@MellyMel22 It's alright. I'd rather have fun times with people on any day of the year, and not just because its my birthday anyway. So I focus on those. They hugely outnumber birthdays. So really birthdays don't matter in the end, when you think of it that way. At least that works for me! And that's what I mention to other people who don't like birthdays as well.
