i think i may have found a shred of motivation.

it's too early to confirm whether or not it's real but i have a feeling i'm onto something.

Report in, how's it going?

@CountScrofula i'm still very unsure if this a temporary thing. but as it stands i'm still feeling like this could lead into something. i realize i'm sounding pretty ominous lol

basically i've been looking for ways to meet new friends in real life. i recently starting gaining an interest in fighting games. i realized that local tournaments take place all the time not to far from where i live. so for the last couple of days i've been using this as motivation to actually get into the genre. i don't want to put too much pressure into this. and i'm worried that i already am. so i'm trying to keep it cool. play at my own pace and enjoy the journey. but i will say that things feel a little less hopeless at the moment.

@looping That's awesome!

Genuinely, the way to get out there is to find community - particularly offline - that you can get involved in. It's how you meet people and find yourself.

Fighting game groups sounds rad as hell that takes me back to my Olden Days of playing street fighter in the local arcade with a lineup of people with quarters.

@CountScrofula i'm super jealous that i wasn't around for the arcade boom. hanging out in arcades playing games like mortal combat and street fighter sounds like a super good time.

and yeah i definitely think it's important for it to be offline. as much as its going to be nerve racking meeting new people in person, in the end it's a lot easier to create genuine bonds i feel like.
