i've been sculpting in blender all day.

whenever i finish up a project for college i always tell myself i'm gonna use blender more often, familiarize myself with it more so it's not such a pain to work with next time. but i never do and that leads me to getting stuck with the simplest things for hours.

What have you been working on?
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 a dragon. just sculpting its head has been a nightmare lol
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping I've done some things too but just objects. People and animals, real or fictional, are too complex for me lol. But great that you try it!
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 yeah if it were up to me i'd stay clear of blender. but to pass my course i gotta make the dragon
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping Do you have to do the rigging as well?
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 yeah annoyingly so. i have to rig and put the dragon in an environment.
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping I never understood rigging. I've used alternative methods lol.
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 such as?
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping Mostly I just use rotation, translation and scaling of the objects to animate. And if that isn't enough, I've done some things with Geometry Nodes as well.
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 that's fair
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping Is that your first project on Blender?
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 nah i use it pretty often for my course. i just never retain any information and get rusty whenever i go back to it.
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping I guess the second time you learn things quicker.
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 yeah that's true. it does get a tiny bit easier each time xD
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping And eventually you're a pro at it!
looping · 18-21
@Luke73 maybe in a few decades
Luke73 · 22-25, M
@looping Best of luck with it then anyway!
