These Kids Are Skipping College to Be TikTok Famous | YouTube | What do you say?

[media=https://youtu.be/L_432I88eVQ]

I call this sheer insanity. Simply because short video fame lasts only for some time (especially in today’s world) whereas knowledge lasts forever. There’s no harm in making TikTok videos or Instagram Reels to become famous but giving up education for the sake of fame is not wise.

Yes, there’s no denying to the fact that lots of people became a renowned personality through social media. YouTubers are the best example of it. However, majority of successful YouTubers aren’t dropouts. They utilize their education to make videos and it is one of the major reason for their success.

People don’t like watching monotonous content. Innovation and reinvention of yourself is the key to become famous nowadays. Innovation and Reinvention, both require knowledge. Seeking the path of fame through short videos involves lots of risk especially when education is not your priority. In case, the TikTok, Instagram and etc., doesn't fetch the desired result, education can still be your saviour. With a college degree you might get a good job. The job might not fetch you a lot but you might live happily.

It is mostly dance, fashion/style, comedy and adult content that are viewed the most on short video platforms. Such content might fetch some fame for a certain period but life is a long journey and youth doesn’t last forever.

Monetization of Account on such platforms is a big challenge. One must understand that algorithm of these apps prioritizes the content of established Artists than people seeking fame. Established Artists have more view time. More view time means more use of the App and more promotion i.e. more Ad revenue.

I believe, these kids are committing a blunder. They might regret this decision throughout life. They should think of those students who cannot attend college despite potential. Simply because they or their parents do not have savings for higher education. Not every student receives scholarship.

At the end of the day, it’s one’s choice!!!

I just expressed my viewpoint. No worries if you have a different perspective towards this. I welcome opinion of others.😇

Isn't instances like these could end up a problem? If children like them will not be educated right then they would live their life believing that as long as the spotlight is pointing at them then they will have no problem.

When in reality, No education equals to poverty and unemployment since a spotlight takes only a matter of time to disappear.

I think the problem is that they have low exposure on what really happens on youtubers and tiktok influencers in real life. That not all the time their skits or videos help them earn money. Also we've been calling people INFLUENCERS who encourages children not go to school. Just because that kind of life work to others doesn't mean it will HAPPEN to you also. Remember that life is UNFAIR.

I, a kid myself, thinks that education may not be free but then it is a key to my future well being not only physically but also mentally. I do not deny that there are also times where I wish I was a famous super star or something but we should learn how to be practical and real. Even after being a super star it is still basic knowledge to atleast learn things or go to school.

Kids in the past skipped college to move to LA and try to me movies stars. Same level of crazy, it’s just what constitutes a celebrity that’s changed.
SoLeRiMix · 36-40, M
@Straylight Most end-up with routine & low-paid jobs later. Struggle seem to be endless for them. God bless them...🙏
HoochieTheClown · 51-55, F
@Straylight The biggest problem is - most people do not have a clue as to how to even get their foot in the door. "hard work" is just the tip of the ice berg.
they probably gonna need a plan B. LOL
SoLeRiMix · 36-40, M
@ReptilianFromPlanetCrush Plan B should always be education and hard work. Not some 'heist' or other illegal/unethical process. Then, escaping law & authorities for the res of the life.🙏
Good they don’t end up in massive student loan debt that so many educated people have been struggling with.
SoLeRiMix · 36-40, M
@Colonelmustardseed Good point about Education loan. Yes, Education loans should not be a burden for students. I agree with that.👍 Governments across the globe must do something about it.

However, there are students who value the loan, study hard and are able to pay bank in time despite struggle. Hurdles and obstacles are destined for everyone's life. It's all about who chooses to get past those hurdles without any halt.🙏😇

I'd say when all this crashes one day, it's going to be a very ugly look.
But I'm referring to a much bigger problem than them dropping out of college. The problem is in education system and people's addiction to cheap fast entertainment in general. Of course I can't know that but I feel like those that are dropping out probably aren't ones who aspire for a degree in medicine or nuclear physics. The most infamous degree here where I'm from is a degree in mass media communication. If you're trading this type of degree for TikTok or Youtube you're actually doing yourself a favour. And who knows how many degrees are out there that exist purely to pull out money from rich parents of kids who don't know what to do in life but everyone tells them they need "a degree" so they will get one.

We know about the big names in social media who are making millions of dollars.

What we do NOT see are the millions of youtubers who are probably not even making enough to match minimum wage.

I mean it seems easy enough for those who made it. Some channels upload mindless bull and it ends up with millions of views overnight. So the question is - how do such videos end up so viral?
Most people do not know the answer to that. It is for that reason that most will never succeed beyond a few thousand views per month.

plus, every day new youtubers and tiktok'ers are out there trying to make it big. There is just too much competition. The platforms are basically saturated with people thinking they will make it big.
