You have hit on the golden formula.... stoicism.
Feel... but don't be your feelings.
The more you articulate/give voice to your feelings, the more you wallow in them and sabotage yourself.

@chilloutab2 it’s true.
I always felt therapy made it worse. I learned to face myself alone and now I feel very intune with myself.
The first few years I studied stoicism I had it wrong. I tried to not feel. But now I understand the meaning of simply being my own confidant because I know and like myself. Nothing changes my core. I think it will get even more mellow as time goes on and I gain experience.
