I had a horrible day at work today and I may consider getting another job.
Warning: long rant.
So what happened was kids we’re running around and we’re trying to get them in their seats. It was so hard. I had NO help from the teacher or the other two support staff.
They told me I sit on my butt and watching then do all the work so they purposely gave me a taste of what it’s like. I did all the toileting and I got yelled at for just standing there and not helping. One of my coworkers (that isn’t fond of me) scolded, “Would you PLEASE TAKE HER?” And gave me an annoying look.
Some kids disrespected me and some even tried kicking me and one scratched and two bit me. One screamed and kicked so hard when I was trying to get him in his seat. The other support teacher scolded at me to let go and let him take a break and I’m not doing him any favors and making things worse. A student refused to do what I say and screamed, “NO!!!!!”
I said, “Don’t you dare tell me NO!! You need to do what I say right now.”
He looked at me like he was going to cry. He said, “UH UH. NO! I won’t do what you say. I don’t like you anymore because you yell!!” And walked away to the other teacher. The staff just looked at me. I turned away. So while the students had yoga and two floater staff was with then and the staff wanted to talk to me about how wrong I was to yell at that student like that.
The teacher, and two other support staff was brutally blunt and straight up said that I’m not a doing a great job as a staff and the problem is I don’t hear what the students say sometimes and brush them off because they need to get over it. One of them (that isn’t fond of me, bluntly said I suck at my job because I ignore students when they tell me their feelings and I told them to get over it. She told the admin they shouldn’t have hired me. The two staff agreed.”
The admin has a serious and blunt talk with me and may consider moving me to another classroom since I can’t handle kindergarten. If they have to have another talk again there’s not gonna be pretty and they would have to let me go. I said by to some students but they didn’t ignored me. Some just looked at me and walked passes by. I said by to one of my coworkers but she ignored me. A lot of people ignored me. Even the admin didn’t answer me back. Sorry this is long.
