Can we have a laugh about the ridiculous things people say when you are bereaved.

When my mum died
OP. You find yourself a nice boyfriend.

Me. I wasn't having an affair with my mum

OP. You know what I mean

Me. No actually I don't. My mum knew about the men in my life

3 months after my boyfriend died
Have you found another boyfriend yet?

Unfortunately I have nothing funny to say, but I found people to be patronising or stayed away from me altogether. It was a horrendous experience and it took a break from everything to make things better. Words don't mean a thing.
