Is there someone you can't forgive from something they have done?

I used to think so, but I guess forgiveness is the best way to move on so I am trying to forgive...it's not easy though. :/

Keep trying, it really is worth the effort 🙂

I've moved on quite nicely without forgiving those who deserve no forgiveness. Even God doesn't forgive evil, why do people expect me to be more forgiving than God?

P.S. If God exists, and if God actual forgave all, there would be no hell. And yet..............

@Serenitree: I am not saying forgiveness is the only way to move on, but for me it is the best way. :) I thought people who believed in God believed that if you were truly sorry for your sins, then you would be forgiven? 🤔 I mean there is a bible quote which says "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." which is from Ephesians 4:32....I am not a christian though...I just found this on openbible.info 🙈

@LittleRebz: you may have noticed I said if god exists. I don't know if there is or isn't a god. I do know that according to every religion I've ever heard about, there is a hell for people who are of the wrong religion. That is one of the unforgivable sins apparently. Jesus only saves if you're a Christian. You are bound for hell if you aren't Muslim. And so on with each religion.

My point is, there are those whom even God will not forgive. Why should I be expected to be better thanGod?

As for forgiving those who are truly sorry......I've heard what sounded like heartfelt begging for forgiveness, every few days and I forgave again and again, until I realize that's how I gave them permission to hurt me again.

I'm not a soul reader. I don't know when sorry is sincere. Let God or the universe sort that out. I never neither the right nor the desire to forgive evil. That's not my job. Neither is punishment. So the people who have caused untold, unknowable damage to my loved ones, get neither punishment nor forgiveness in this life, on this plain of existence.

@Serenitree: I am not telling you how you should be, all I said was I think forgiveness is the best way to move on, well for me it is the case anyway. I would rather forgive and remove grudges than continuously live with a grudge on my shoulders. I used to waste a lot of time thinking angrily about the people who have upset me, so personally it was best for MYSELF to move on by forgiveness. It might not be the best option for you in your eyes, but it is for me. Yes, some people say they forgive but continue to do wrong...but not everyone is like that so I always give someone a second chance if they want it. I could say a lot more about this topic but frankly, I am not interested in getting into a debate over this, sorry. :)

@LittleRebz: I do forgive people who have upset me. If I didn't, I'd be in a mental ward for life.

I'm not talking about upset. I'm talking about the rape of a two year old child. I'm not debating the issue either. I'm merely clarifying what I find unforgivable. I do hope you never have to discover if you could forgive someone you trusted for such an act.
