Many times, we place blame, even if on ourselves, ahead of understanding the root cause of our unhappiness. What do you suppose is your root cause? 馃 *Lights pipe and leans forward*

@MarkPaul lol..
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul It's best if I vent in my story.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x Stories can be useful, but they are an indication you are not ready to truly deal with your issue. 馃 *Taps pipe on side of chair, puts it back in mouth. Leans back*
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul Not if I deal with it myself.

@MarkPaul 馃ぃ
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x You can't deal with it yourself. 馃 *Places pipe on glass table*
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul It's either I find out what the problem is, and to deal with it, or I'm just gonna make it worse.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x It sounds like you want to write stories instead of confront the issue, tbh. 馃 *Grabs both arms of chair and gently taps fingers on each side*
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul If that's what you believe, then ok. Not saying I agree with you, but ok. 馃憣
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x Well, what do you expect me to believe based on your behaviour? 馃 *Raises left eyebrow; picks up pipe and holds it*
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul What do you expect for me to say?
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x I want you to say what you feel. 馃 *Leans forward*
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul Lost..
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x Okay... that's valid. How does it feel to feel lost? 馃 *Re-lights pipe*
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul There are many words to describe it, but when I'm lost, I feel empty...
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x Emptiness never feels good, certainly. But, it can be used as a springboard to bring about change. It's mostly about "using" the emptiness feeling. The challenge though is the emptiness is usually caused by repressed feelings from the past that is almost never reconcilable. That being said, acknowledging those feelings and accepting them in some type of perspective can be helpful. 馃
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul I will. I can't just try.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x That's really the key. Trying is not useful for us in this case; in fact it's not useful at all. The key though is to plan small steps and recognize each (small) step as a victory... a genuine victory. Most people fail at this because they want to take a short-cut and they skip steps. Start small, stay small, and remember... ALWAYS remember... celebrate each small victory before moving to the next small step. 馃
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul Basically, take your time to do what you gotta do and and you'll succeed. I guess that's what you're saying...?
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x Precisely. 馃
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul Well... There's always drawing I could do. That's my best example there.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x Indeed. I have seen samples of your work. Impressive. That can be therapeutic regardless of talent and you seem to have a talent for drawing. That can be a productive outlet to release your repressed feelings. The question to ask yourself is , "do I have the courage to let it (the repressed feelings) out." It's definitely not for the faint-of-heart. And, the emotional effort will be exhausting. So, don't underestimate the task... but also don't underestimate your fortitude. This won't be easy. The human mind uses an incredible amount of energy to repress feelings. And, there is a reason for that. But, after you literally let go, that energy can be redirected. A note of caution: The emptiness won't simply disappear. For many, it never goes away. It just becomes bearable. And for most, that is worth all the effort of this challenge. 馃
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul I honestly do thank you for that. And I get what you mean about repressed emotions. It's like I have to take that emotion and turn it into some kind of weapon. For example, someone said that my drawing was mediocre, uninspiring, and I couldn't make a living out of it. That kinda pissed me off, but I was calmly replying back. That emotion, which was pretty much anger, kinda made me wanna do more art than normal. This was the picture I've done.
MarkPaul26-30, M
@xSiFiGamer2016x I see emotion in the eyes and the hair of this drawing. Overall though, I like the cleanness of your drawing. Personally, I think you have a genuine talent. 馃
xSiFiGamer2016x22-25, M
@MarkPaul And I do thank you for that. Sometimes, I draw characters that can represent how I'm feeling.
