I'm conflicted about auditioning for a role in a musical

I've wanted to get back to performing again as it's been two years since I last stood on a stage of any kind. I was supposed to perform at a small music festival this summer, but it got cancelled, so I've been a bit bummed out.

But today, someone told me about this audition for one of the main roles in a musical I love to bits.
I really want to audition, if only just to have done SOMETHING this year, but I'm nervous about the possibility of getting the role and crashing it.

I don't think the role is suited for me...
Oh, but it's one of my favorites...
There's a very small chance that I'll get it...
But I might get it and screw everyone over...
But I'll regret not trying, at least...

Just sleep with the director.

That's how it's done in Hollywood.
