What does being good with money mean?

Roadsterrider · 56-60, M
For me, it means being smart enough with what I have to cover what I need and to cover the future. Savings, whether it is in a retirement account of a savings account or hidden under the mattress in my bedroom. Social Security probably isn't going to be there for me to retire on, my retirement account will have to take care of me when I can't work any more. Paying for what I need first instead of what I want. My insurance, my house payment, a health savings account, groceries, all come before that cool new phone or wheels and tires for my jeep. Before beer or cigarettes. We work to pay for things we want and need, I try to save some amount every payday, even if it is only a few dollars. That makes it easier to live in times like this when I am not getting a full paycheck.

Spending money so quickly you're always broke by the next paycheque - assuming you have enough income to be bad with money in the first place.

helterskelter being able to make a budget plan for your financial intake and out puts stick to it rigidly where possible and it work for you financially
Usually that you manage it well. California, New York and Illinois are decidedly NOT good with money.
