I don't label myself as either... I am more of an observer and listener so I am pretty quiet in a lot of social situations and people often assume that I am shy and introverted. However I am really just the opposite. I can be very outgoing and outspoken (and those who know me will attest to the truth of this). I am one of the people you mentioned who happens to be somewhere in the middle, but I do prefer privacy, to stay to the background (I am not an attention seeker), and I am happiest in the company of smaller groups and not large social gatherings or crowds. I am an HSP and become easily overwhelmed with too much stimulation (too much going on to deal with at one time)….it causes off the charts stress and anxiety. So I do tend to chose and lean toward the slower, quieter, more peaceful, but I am not shy by any means.
