Why do people I have never talked with before message and just say Hi?

No introduction or anything, and then some question that are so personal, and expect a long conversation?

I've had them just write, out of the blue, and JUST say Hi, and nothing else. I can't imagine the mental midget who can't even manage a full sentence.
