That's really hard.
I once witnessed a teen girl being struck repeatedly by her father in a parking lot of a grocery store.
I wanted so badly to run over and stop it or to call the police, but another person who was with me, told me that I should leave it alone.
They thought that calling the police would likely result in nothing, as abuse victims are trained to lie and protect their abusers, and she wouldn't tell the truth to the police. Also, they thought that she would likely get beaten even more as the father would blame her for the police getting involved.
I walked away that day, feeling really bad. I don't know what the right answer really is?

Wow, really tough question. On the one hand people will ignore help. On the other hand as a child I was a victim and not one single person would help me. As an adult I confronted them and they all basically said the same thing. They didn't want to go out of their way and disrupt their lives. So in the end I would say if kids were involved no question I would help.

I would " take care of it"

No hesitation in getting involved.
Even though the last time I did some cops showed up and held the three of us at gunpoint. "Not me! Not me!" :)
What you DO need to be aware of though is what might look like violence and abuse to "normal" people is an every day situation for some. I've stepped in a couple of times only to have women freak out on me. So it's a judgement call. Either way, calling the cops is the least that should be done.

I have many times and wouldn't hesitate to do it again, 😔especially if children are involved.

Call the cops, you don't want to be in the middle.

@GoldenWorm Sometimes the cops hands are tied. Had an incident like that. The suspect ended up killing the victim. The law can only do so much if they don't put the person behind bars.

I would call the police and try to support and protect the victim.Too many have been badly hurt and killed by an abusive partner. This includes women abusing men.One case was Tracy Andrews who stabbed her boyfriend 42 times in his car and claimed it was car thieves and a woman that battered her boyfriend to death in public. He died from head injuries from when she kicked him.

I would and have.
