Ever get stopped at a store and asked if they can pray for you?

I usually let them, as I know they mean well. But it's really extremely awkward.

Agreed. I pray for people all the time, sometimes complete strangers, but I always do that silently or in my private time of prayer. I don't think God needs a public fuss. I know it's well-intentioned, but I find it condescending, as if the person wanting to pray for you has some inside track with God you don't have yet.

Please. Go home and pray for yourself!
