If you could drastically change a friends viewpoint?

Would you do it, knowing that the truth would cause them pain?

I would judge it on the person. If i felt they could accept it, and would be happier as a result of it, then i would. If not, then i wouldn't ever challenge it, simply out of a need to be right.

This depends on what it is.
If its a general belief, I'd talk of my own beliefs, not with the intent to change theirs but with the intent to understand mine too. Like I want to understand theirs.
If its something that happened, that would affect their mind and perhaps life, I will say it. The thing about being a friend is I need to have their back. Not to judge what is good or bad for them.

@SW-User It does indeed. And i do the same, if people happen to like what i'm talking about, all the better. And i think voicing your own thoughts is a way of understanding as well :)
I agree, being a proper friend seems woefully underappreciate these days, while i think it's quite rare and good.

@Axelerator It is rare. I would feel really betrayed if a friend knew something sensitive to me, and didn't tell me.

@SW-User I would too, and would argue that i would always rather have the truth, regardless of what it is.

Not change it...but offer observations and opinions which might on occassion give them food for thought.

A post i shared recently
' friends can tell us things we wont tell ourselves' its not slways appreciated at the time....but might be in time.
A true friend wouldnt say it with anything other than good intentions

@Axelerator its hard to take at times ...even when you know they mean well. But...a friend wouldnt say it unless it needed saying....right?
Axelerator · 26-30, M
@RubySoo As long as you know you can trust the friends judgment, which is not always the case, that can be bad as well.

@Axelerator yeap....but sometimes they are....and we are not ready to hear ... x

Nope, not my job to change anyone but myself.
