How do you combat Nihlism?

I've made amazing progress in my life recently. But everything feels pointless still? Like no matter what I become it won't be enough.

It makes me feel weak and silly.

@pagandad I love this! I know it and read it often. Thanks for sharing it!

Have you ever considered that maybe nihilism shouldn't be seen as a problem and instead accepted as the default state of individuals from birth..?

I think self-Identity and experiences eventually develop the individual beyond that state.. Nevermind.. It was just a useless thought. Someone else will have something much better and directly impactful for you. I hope you feel better.

@es0tericus That was productive!

Philosophically I have no problem with Nihlism. The issue is that I am an animal who needs to motivate themselves to move.
Congratulations on your progress. We are never "finished."

Seeking value from life and oneself isn't a destination - it's a journey. It's the journey that teaches and matures.

Maybe you haven't experienced true failure and pain..that helps you be happy for anything even remotely positive

It is normal. You are on a journey. congrats and carry on. You sound like a doer
Sounds like you need to read some stoicism to me.
If you've found out, let me know 😉

Don't combat it. Embrace it. If nothing else it can free you from worry. Worrying about the consequences is usually what stops you doing anything. And most of all do what you enjoy.
