Anime is usually torture for me...
Redstar · 36-40, M
Yep.
So anyway, why is it usually torture for you? No judgement, just wondering.

Fair enough. It's not for everyone.
@indyjoe much of animé is crap, made just to fill a niche.
But when a producer is given time, the art work is phenominal. And the plots and screenplay are clever, and quite witty. It's just a shame so much mainstream stuff makes it look bad.

@BoobooSnafu How much anime have you seen?
@Redstar Not as much good stuff as I would like, and way too much crap.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to animation.
I fell in love with Disney when I was little. Snow white was a materpiece - some of those backgrounds were incredible oil paintings within themselves.
It set the bar pretty High.
So things like ( and I'm gonna piss people off here) yu-gi-oh, they just make me wanna throw up.
But then things like Ajin happen, and my belief in animé art comes back.

Bones is a studio known for producing good anime with good visuals. You should check them out if you haven't already.
I'd recommend something myself but I don't know what you like, apart from Ajiin but I haven't seen that. And I'm surprised you mentioned that one, because I tried watching it once but was put off my how it looked. Unless you're being sarcastic.
Hell, I'll just name a few random things. Fullmetal Alchemist, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012), Steins;Gate.

No, not sarcastic - genuine comment.
You're not alone in finding it difficult to watch - many people complained about the variant style, they felt it was not in the bounds of true animé. (Bah!🙄 - evolution people!!!!)
But it some absolutely beautiful elements and affects.
Thanks for the recconendations, my time is limited when it comes to absorbing myself in something.
Appreciated🤗

@BoobooSnafu I might give it another shot some time, because it does sound interesting.
You're welcome :) And if you don't have much time for getting absorbed, maybe avoid Steins;Gate.
