Is nationalism a perversion of patriotism?

@revenant Is the concept of patriotism being perverted with the concept of nationalism?

@MarkPaul I am sorry I still do not really get it. One is feeling superior to others ? nationalism is just securing to me

@revenant I don't know what you mean by "securing." But, it would be like if I told you by acting in narcissistic way, I care about you. In that example I would be perverting the idea of caring by calling it narcissism.

@MarkPaul yes but what is narcissistic anyway ? taking care of yourself and your owns is natural in my language.

@revenant The dictionary definition: "a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves. It's the same definition regardless of language.

@revenant Psychologically... no. Narcissism is not considered a healthy condition.

@MarkPaul I know it is not...but there is self esteem with empathy.

@revenant Agreed, but that's not narcissism. So, to act in a narcissistic way and call caring is a perversion.
