Yes and rightly so. I used to work for one (vehicle) and their practices were to con the most amount of money from customers, then add-ons (a lot of time without customers consent), get their way out of paying, collude with other insurers and try to get both parties involved to take blame (increases both of their renewal prices for the next 7 years)......after moving to compliance and listening directly to all sales calls and realising that it was much worse than I thought I woke up one morning and just couldn't go to work. Institutional scumbags.

@iMystery yeah, take note. It's illegal to not give these vultures money. Another industry that makes, literally pointless, middlemen rich. They, for the most part, are brokers. We should be able to bin them off and go directly to the underwriter.
Another point, here in the uk, always get your insurance online because it's where they charge the lowest broker fee, hence the reason you will get called instantly if you use a real phone number for quotes. They will usually say you haven't done it right and change the parameters slightly, which are usually filled in correctly or don't increase the liability and price, but will then use that insignificant change as leverage to increase the cost of your policy......which is purely a broker fee.
It answer the phone and waste their time. Petty but when that's all we have.......
