Why is it so hard to say I love you?

Not even to a partner, just to a friend or family member, people that I genuinely do love and want them to know it. I find it so hard to say. Yet I constantly tell my pets I love them basically any time they breathe 🤦‍♀️

@SW-User I think definitely in general, but this is like my closest friends, my parents and siblings who have been there for years. I can write it fine in a message but saying it out loud is so different :/

@SW-User yeah that makes sense. I don't really like being touched but then it's like I compensate for that with people i'm really close to, like I hug my friends/family a fair bit?
