Is working at night more of a depressing experience for you than working during the day?

It should be depressing, on account that you're working against your biological clock... Then if you sleep by day you'll seldom see daylight so that should make it more depressing... I think there are studies showing that workers of night shifts make more errors than those on the dayshift, supposedly because the body is "trying to sleep"(because it's nightime) so the brain tries to shut down...

I didn't mind it. I worked in an inpatient facility. Occasionally I had to work nights. It mainly consisted of checking on the patients every so many minutes. If they needed something I helped them. The rest of the time I talked with coworkers, read a book, or was on the computer.

Yes. I worked occasional night shifts in a textile mill when I was young and hated it. More recently, I've had to work late at night on proposals and found it to be totally depressing.

@exexec Was the textile mill in Germany?

No. The U.S.A., but we had equipment made in Germany.
I worked nights for a little while and I loved it. Peaceful and quiet. No bosses around and no phones ringing or pop-ins. Easy money. Plus then you have all day to take care of your errands.

@PrincessVelvet How much sleep did you get if you were running errands during the day?
What type of company/line of work?
i did it for 9 months once -- horrible. I quit after.
